Keep ‘em separated: Cellphones could erase Nissan I-Keys

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

f you have a 2007 Nissan Altima or a 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan, you might want to keep your mobile phone in a different pocket than your car’s fancy I-Key fob. The fobs, as you’re probably well aware by now, enable and disable the cars’ keyless ignition systems. According to Nissan, the problem is that if the fob is touched by a cellphone while a call is in progress, the software that controls the I-Key’s automagic goodness can be altered or erased, rendering it useless. Furthermore, the damage is not reversible, and the I-Key simply becomes landfill fodder.

Nissan’s modifying the key to correct the issue, and will provide new ones to owners once it’s straightened it all out. According to the AP, this’ll happen sometime in the fall. In the meantime, some dealers are stocking up on spares just in case, and you’d be advised to follow Nissan’s advice and keep a little distance between the key and your phone. After all, you don’t want the simple act of pressing the Start button to turn into an exercise in futility — especially over something as mundane as checking your voice mail.

Infiniti G35 Coupe- ROTD

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I think this is the first Infinit G35 i’ve posted, and the owner sent a nice email about the car.  Instead of posting a  standard spec sheet, I think i’ll let Cassidy tell you more about his car.

 Infiniti

”Well, I have an 06 Infiniti G35, thats right, the G ride baby.. Anyways, I’ve been slowly modding it when i have the money.. Since i’m a full time college student my car has been on the back burner… But my first mod was an Injen Intake which i modified to prevent hydrolock.. Once the mod was on, i took my car out to the track to see what changes had occurred.. I ran a  14.0 at 100 mph (stock was 14.5 at 97mph)

After that i got the MREV kit and high flow cats which was a noticeable gain across the entire power band.. Only complaint about the HF was that i lost some low end torque which the G really needed, and it seemed to be burning oil.. So i went to a thicker oil and it helped out.  At the track it really helped unlock the motors potential.. With the intake, MREV, and cats, i ran a 13.8 at 104mph.   So with a little motor work done, i decided to make my G stand out from the rest of the 350GT’s out there.   I orered a set of DB Volk GT-Cs, JDM clear corners w/ HID lights, Top Secret Hood, Stillen Sway Kit, and still waiting on the ARC Strut Brace.

For the future i want to get, the kenstyle body kit, HKS Hi-power exhaust, UTEC, Tein Coilovers, and the Seibon TS Hood… Once thats done ill try to save up fro the real power… F/I!!!  Well i can dream”

ARC G35 Strut Bars… Finally came in…Then left again

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

So, ARC released a set of Titanium Strut Bars for the Infiniti G35 last week.  The only problem was, they sent the press release out in Feb saying they would be available early March.  To make a long story short, i quickly sold 2 of them and when March rolled around, they still weren’t available.  They were on the dreaded “backorder”….  More about backorders another time.

Anyways, now here it is, Aug 3rd, and the bars just shipped to my customers yesterday.  I hate backorders, really i do.  Thanks to the extreme patience of my customers while waiting for them, they will soon have the first 2 in the country on their G coupes.

Anyways, just wanted to rant a bit.

Thanks
